Jordan Clarkson, Filipino American NBA superstar of the Los Angeles Lakers, answers questions from Kababayan Media at an event with members of the Filipino press and media professionals. The press conference which lasted about 20 minutes, preceded a 'Meet and Greet/ Photo-Op with Jordan Clarkson and members of the Filipino American community. The event was organized by Team Clarkson's Tim Fuller; Fil-Am community organizers Mark Anthony Agbuya, Janette Lachica, Bel Molina and Rachelle Ocampo, in cooperation with the Philippine Consulate General, New York. "I played a little bit of everything, played some soccer, football, ran track, I really started playing basketball till I was in like 8th 9th grade, so I started kinda late with that, but it kinda, everything played out, I was fast and can jump and developed a shot, he (turns to dad) was mad at me coz I don't want to play no other sports and I just want to play basketball, so it just kinda worked out in the end." - Jordan Clarkson on what other sports activities he did before and when he started playing basketball.
"First I was really mad, because I was sitting in my house for like 2 hours watching TV and I didn't see my name get called either, so uhm yeah I was first mad but I was really ... I got happy when, you know. I had my family and friends there at the house, just have an opportunity, be in the NBA and play for the organization the Lakers it was just, it was defenitely humbling and a blessing so it was just great." - Jordan Clarkson recalling that moment during the 2014 NBA Draft.
